Vebjorn Sand

Overview

Vebjørn Sand is regarded as one of Norway's greatest artists. He is well known for his paintings and public art installations such as the Da Vinci Bridge (Oslo, Norway) and Ice Bridge in New York City.

Requirements

Vebjørn Sand approached us to design a site which displayed his vast catalogue of paintings, drawings and public art installations in an innovative and memorable manner. Vebjørn asked that the site be kept simple so that the art work could speak for itself.

Solution

We designed a Flash site which displayed his work as large backdrops to the entire site. This showed the quality and detail of Vebjørn's work in a new and exciting way. The navigation is easy-to-use, functional and clear. We created some subtle fades and animations to create a site which would appeal to Vebjørn's client base. The site takes advantage of larger screen sizes, its simple, clean design helps the user focus on the art and content.
